Ralph Ernest Mikkelson, age 91 of Eagan, MN passed away on July 1, 2025. Ralph was born on December 25, 1933, in Marshall Town, IA to Edward and Mary (Martin) Mikkelson. Ralph graduated high school in 1952 from New Providence, IA., where he served as the basketball team manager and was a member of the choir. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1953-1956 as a grade 5 specialist. Ralph graduated from Iowa State in 1959 with a bachelor's degree in math, after college he moved to Seattle and worked at Boeing.

He met his wife of 64 years, Barbara Bower at the First Presbyterian Church (Ski Trip at Mount Hood), they were married in Seattle on June 10, 1961. They then moved to Mpls in 1964, and to Burnsville 1970, then after his retirement as a computer programmer for Unisys Corp, they moved to Eagan.

Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lucille; brothers, Melvin (Claire), and Howard (Irene).

Survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Barb; children, Mary, Mark, Timothy (Chiharu), and Steve, Mikkelson, also by daughter-in-law, Martha; grandchildren, Elandra, Joe, Khean, Sam, Ellen; great grandson, Miles, and other family and friends.

Memorial Service for Ralph will be held at the Faith Covenant Church, 12921 Nicollet Ave., Burnsville, MN  on Monday August 4, 2025 at 11 AM with a gathering of family and friends starting at 10 AM. A private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
