Richard Gordon Hall was born on December 18, 1946, in Austin, Minnesota to Viola Mae (Gordon) and Howard Vincent Hall.  He was a 1964 graduate of Austin High School. He graduated in 1968 from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. In Journalism.  He had a successful career in advertising and marketing, finishing as Marketing Director at Business Incentives.

On September 9, 1978, he married the love of his life, Helen, and they had two daughters, Stacey and Lindsay.  Love of his wife and family was his highest priority.  His hobbies were quiet and creative, including movies, music and reading.  Well, maybe not so quiet, as his home theater had Dolby surround sound.  He enjoyed the friendship of a tight knit group of lifelong friends. After retirement, he was a caregiver to Helen for many years before becoming so ill himself that they had to move into St. Gertrude's nursing home together.

He died peacefully on July 7, 2026 in Shakopee, MN.  He is survived by his wife, Helen Lollis Hall, his daughters Stacey Sorensen Green (David) and Lindsay Jean Hall, by grandchildren Brenna, Aidan, Hunter and Chase, by sisters Carol Marie Hall and Mary Jean Owen, and sister-in-law Mary Lollis.  A Memorial Service will be held at White Funeral Home, located at 14560 Pennock Avenue, Apple Valley, MN on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
