Richard Phillip
Williamson
Mar 4, 1963 — Jun 26, 2026
Farmington
Richard P. Williamson, 63, of Lakeville, Minnesota passed away on June 26, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Rick was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and spent his formative years growing up in Casper, Wyoming. In the 1980s he made his way to North Dakota before planting his roots in the Minneapolis area, where he built his life and raised his family. In 2018, he and Joan added Sun Lakes, Arizona to their story, a warm second home where he had every intention of happily retiring.
He built a career rooted in the same precision and dedication he brought to everything in his life, spending the majority of his professional years working in technology and finishing his career as a computer engineer specializing in the installation and repair of medical equipment. Those who worked alongside Rick understood he was not the type to leave a job half done, as he had the patience and attention to detail to see every task through the right way.
Rick was analytical, organized, and a man of deep integrity. He held firm to his morals and led by example in everything he did. Alongside that quiet steadiness lived a sharp wit and a sarcasm entirely his own, the kind that caught you off guard and stuck with you long after.
Rick was taken from us far too soon by lung cancer, but those who loved him refuse to let that be his story. What endures is the man he was every day, steady, principled, and irreplaceable. He will be remembered not for how his life ended, but for how fully and intentionally he lived it.
He is preceded in death by his father, Hal Williamson, and his mother, Barbara Teas Williamson. Rick is survived by his wife, Joan; son, Bridger; stepson, Kobe (Mary); stepdaughter, Whitley (Cody); stepgrandson, Odin; mother, Donna Williamson; brothers Russ (Ann), Todd and Troy (Katy), the Bergman family; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his two beloved Australian Shepherd puppies, River and Stormy.
