It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard James Wolf, 77, of Farmington, MN. He departed this life peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Rich was born on March 18, 1949, in Redwood Falls to Ernest and Johanna Wolf. He graduated from Sanborn High School in 1967 and earned a BS in Education from Southwest State University. He had a dedicated career as a Local 49 Heavy Equipment Operator. Rich taught his children the value of hard work and never missed a ballgame.

He met the love of his life, Rita Kay Sheets, in high school. He often said that the moment they met, he knew she was the one. They were married on April 27, 1968, and together they raised three children: Stephanie, Shannon, and Nathan.

Outside of work, he was passionate about fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was lovingly known as "Papa" to his grandchildren and was famous for his hot-buttered popcorn. A man of quiet strength and enduring love, his gentle spirit and steady presence will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Johanna Wolf; his brothers, Donald and Robert Wolf; and his sister, Ramona (Wolf) Schiller.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rita Kay Wolf; his children, Stephanie (Craig) DeAdder, Shannon (J.J.) Grant, and Nathan (Torri) Wolf; nine grandchildren, Zackary, Samantha, Megan, Madeline, Lindsey, Sidney, Mason, Cody, Parker; and seven great-grandchildren, Bentley, Emmett, Ragnar, Zara, Myles, Iris, and Presley.

A celebration of life will be held on July 30th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at White Family Funeral Home, 901 3rd St, Farmington, MN 55024. He will be laid to rest at Lake Amelia Cemetery in Villard, MN.
