Rev. Roger Allen Lane, age 73, passed away in his home in Apple Valley, MN on January 5th, 2023, after a battle with liver cancer. He was peaceful and surrounded by his family.
Roger was a respected pastor, leader, fundraiser, mentor, and coach to countless people throughout his years. He had a passion for fundraising, and his book "Funded" became a staple to guide churches in their fundraising journeys. Roger never met a stranger and he was passionate about seeing people reach their full potential in Christ.
His passion for ministry began in 1972 after his first cancer diagnosis. He was a staff pastor at Northfield Church in Gering, NE, First Assembly of God in Des Moines, IA, South Side Assembly of God in Omaha, NE, and Cedar Valley Church in Bloomington, MN. For 12 years he was the Vice President of Development at North Central Bible College, now North Central University. He was a professional fundraising consultant for churches and para-church organizations worldwide. He raised over 400 million dollars for the Kingdom over the course of his career.
Roger deeply loved his best friend and wife, Ann, of 52 years, his daughters Kate and Kristie, and his 8 grandchildren, who adored their 'Papa'. He was a memory-maker, always finding funny and meaningful moments that everyone would remember. Many of those moments have turned into family traditions.
Roger is survived by his wife, Ann; his daughters Kate Lane Ketterling (Rick) and Kristie Lane Kerr (Jeff); Grandchildren Reed Ketterling, Chase Ketterling, Lucy Kerr Heim (Ryan), Hunter Ketterling, Charles Kerr, Betty Kerr, Catelyn Ketterling, and Dottie Kerr; his brother Tim Lane (Ronda); Ann's siblings Judy Pennington Bruns, Gary Pennington (Barb), Ed Pennington (Marneé); and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
