Obituary

Ronald "John" Gott, age 88, John passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

John was a dedicated businessman and a familiar face in the Apple Valley community, where he proudly owned and operated Granada Barbers & Beauty Shop for more than 40 years before retiring in 2014. Throughout his career, he built lasting friendships with generations of customers who appreciated not only his skill but also his warm personality and genuine kindness.

A longtime member of the Apple Valley Fishing Club and Rotary, John valued fellowship, community service, and the many friendships he made over the years.

Above all, John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were truly the apples of his eye. He cherished every opportunity to teach them how to fish, hunt, share stories, play cards and dice games with the whole family and create lifelong memories together.

John had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether he was hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, jet skiing, boating, or pulling the kids on water tubes and skis, he found happiness on the water and in nature. Since the late 1970s, some of his favorite memories were made at the family cabin in Wisconsin, where he spent nearly every weekend enjoying time with those he loved.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Donna; his sons, Craig, Brian (Karin), and Randy; his grandchildren, Meghan Perry (Mike), Aidan, Logan, Tanner, and Faith; and his great-grandson, Tony ("Little T"). He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Acacia Cemetery. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend as they gather to celebrate John's life and honor his memory.

John will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his christian faith, and generous spirit, his sense of humor, and the countless lives he touched through his work, friendships, and love of the outdoors. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
