Ronald Eugene Mains
August 18, 1941 – November 6, 2026
Ronald Eugene Mains went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2026 after a brief but hard-fought battle against cancer. Ron was born on August 18, 1941, to Chris and Lottie Mains in Onamia, Minnesota. One of twelve children, Ron shared a particularly special bond with his dearly loved twin sister. He grew up on a dairy farm outside of Superior, Wisconsin, where he came to know and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. As a young adult, he answered God’s call to ministry, beginning a lifelong journey of faith, service, and devotion to others.
Ron began his ministry as a youth pastor, often sharing the many humorous and unforgettable stories from those early years. His calling eventually led him into pastoring, evangelizing, and planting churches. Throughout his life, he planted six churches and faithfully served as pastor of World Harvest Pentecostal Church in Richfield, Minnesota.
Pastor Ron’s ministry reached far beyond the church pulpit. He mentored countless young people who answered God’s call to ministry, many of whom continue to serve today. Through his spiritual counseling, wisdom, and compassion, he touched lives across generations. He had a remarkable gift for teaching the Word of God, bringing Scripture to life in ways that made even the deepest truths understandable and meaningful. He was steadfast in his commitment to allowing Scripture to interpret Scripture, ensuring that biblical truth—not the doctrines of man—remained the foundation of his teaching. His apostolic calling and passion for God’s Word left a lasting spiritual legacy in the lives of those he taught, encouraged, and led.
Ron was also the author of Navigating Through God’s Word, a book he wrote and published in English that was later translated into Spanish. Through this work, he extended his passion for biblical understanding to an even broader audience, helping others grow in their knowledge of God’s Word.
Beyond his ministry, Ron built and owned a successful real estate brokerage business. He represented numerous builders and helped hundreds of families throughout the Twin Cities build their dream homes. His dedication, integrity, and professional accomplishments earned him recognition from the National Association of Home Builders, where he received local, regional, and national awards.
Whether he was pastoring, hunting, golfing, or fishing, Ron enjoyed the relationships and experiences that made life meaningful. He had a warm smile, a kind word, and a gentle spirit that reflected his love for God and for people. Those who knew him will remember not only his wisdom and accomplishments, but also his compassion, humor, and unwavering commitment to his faith.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Jolene Ludvigsen Mains; his sons, Ronald Zachary Mains (Jordan), Joshua Ronald Mains, Timothy Mains (Peggy), Thomas Mains (Kimberly), James Mains (Jennifer), Jonathon Mains (Rebecca); daughter Kimberly Sue Olson (Russ), and Mika his faithful hunting dog. He is also survived by many extended family members, brothers and sisters in the Lord, friends, and neighbors whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Ron’s life was a testament to a faith faithfully lived, a calling faithfully pursued, and a love generously shared. His influence will continue through the churches he planted, the ministers he mentored, the families he helped, the truths he taught, and the many lives forever changed by his ministry.
Pastor Ron, we will dearly miss your smiling face, your kind words, and your gentle spirit, which so beautifully displayed the love of God. Though we grieve your passing, we give thanks for the life you lived, the faith you shared, and the legacy you leave behind. Your work on earth is finished, but the seeds you planted will continue to bear fruit for generations to come. Well done, good and faithful servant.
