Roselyn M. Schmitz, age 78, of Savage, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Roselyn was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Margaret Novotny, and by her sisters, Pamela and Margy. She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Terry Schmitz; her son Joel Schmitz and his wife Rebecca; her cherished grandchildren, Brady and Benjamin; and many other loving family members and friends.

Roselyn had a deep love for flowers and gardening, finding joy and peace in nurturing beautiful spaces around her home. She was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying watching her grandchildren play basketball and baseball. She also loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed activities such as golf.

Music played an important role throughout Roselyn's life. In her early years, she played the clarinet, and later in life she continued her musical journey by playing the guitar and piano. Her love of music, family, and the simple joys of life will always be remembered.

Roselyn will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Service Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 30, at Church of the Risen Savior, 1501 County Road 42 East, Burnsville, Minnesota, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Monday, December 29, from 5:00–8:00 PM at White Funeral Home, 14560 Pennock Avenue, Apple Valley, Minnesota.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to Church of the Risen Savior or the Alzheimer's Association. Donations may be made online at www.alz.org.
