Ruth Feely Novitzki, age 98, formerly of Farmington, MN, passed away peacefully at Ecumen Seasons of Apple Valley on August 1, 2026, just nine days before her 99th birthday.
Ruth was a sister, friend, wife, mother, Nana, and a devout Catholic. She was born in Farmington, MN to parents Edward and Pearl Feely. After graduating from Farmington High School in 1945, Ruth attended the College of Saint Catherine and graduated with a BS Degree in Nursing in 1949.
Ruth worked at the Nicollet Clinic in Pediatrics in Minneapolis and the Rivers Edge Medical Clinic in Farmington. She was a kind and caring nurse admired by both physicians and patients.
On June 7, 1952, Ruth married Leonard Novitzki at the Church of St. Michael, Farmington. Ruth was a lifelong parishioner at St. Michael's. For many years after her retirement, Ruth attended daily Mass, sang in the funeral choir, and made some cherished friendships. Ruth was an avid sports fan of Farmington, Notre Dame, or any school her grandchildren attended. Ruth will be remembered for her stylish dress and engaging personality.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Novitzki, her parents, Edward and Pearl Feely, brother, Jim Feely, and sister, Jean Moran. Ruth is survived by her sister, Marion Graf, sisters-in-law, Jan Feely and Lorraine Novitzki, children, Pat, Ann (Jim Maney), Tom (Sandy) and Mark (Nina), six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and special friends, Piper and Angela.
Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial for Ruth will be at the Church of St. Michael, 22120 Denmark Ave., Farmington, MN 55024. Visitation will be from 3:00-6:00 PM, October 22, 2026 and from 10:00-11:00 AM, with Mass to follow at 11:00 AM on October 23, 2026. Interment St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery.
