Scott Douglas
Ersfeld
Sep 15, 1962 — May 30, 2025
Farmington`
Scott Ersfeld, age 62, of Farmington, passed away peacefully of natural causes at home on May 30, 2025. He is preceded in death by his brother, Steve; stepfather, Michael; stepmother, Bev; and niece, Skylar.
Scott is lovingly remembered by his father, Ronald; mother, Carol Thure; sister, Diane (Tom) Yazzie; brother, Tony (Joy); nieces, Allison and Haley; stepsisters Sandy (Randy) Hovdet and Lori Twait; stepbrothers Rodney (Letty) Beich and Jim Beich, along with many cherished family members and dear friends.
Born on September 15, 1962, in Farmington, Scott graduated from Farmington High School in 1981 and went on to attend Dakota County Technical College, where he studied Automotive Repair. He worked for many years as a meter reader at Dakota Electric and held a variety of other roles throughout his life, including handyman — a job well-suited to his natural curiosity and mechanical talents. He also spent several years in Northern California, where he worked at an RV resort.
Scott had a lifelong passion for understanding how things worked. From a young age, he was known for taking apart radios and electronics, just to put them back together. Whether it was cars, electronics, or home repairs, Scott could fix almost anything. He also shared his technical skills by running the soundboard for Farmington Christian Life Church's Sunday services.
A true host at heart, Scott especially enjoyed having friends over during the annual Dakota County Fair — a tradition filled with music, laughter, bonfires, and backyard camping. His warm spirit, quick wit, and generous heart created a sense of community wherever he went.
Scott will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
"What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us."
—Helen Keller
