Sharon Marie Peterson, age 77 of Rosemount passed away peacefully at her home on June 16, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Sharon was born on March 27,1949 in Austin, MN to LeRoy and Clarice "Aileen" Anderson.
Sharon was a graduate of Austin High School. She married Gerald "Jerry" Peterson on June 1,1968 at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin. Sharon worked at Penn Co/Graham Construction and after she retired went back to working part-time at Inver Grove Ford.
In Sharon's spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved gardening, camping, and reading books. Sharon and Jerry enjoyed became snowbirds about 10 years ago and enjoy spending 4 months in Mesa, Arizona as snowbirds, which allowed her extra time in the sunshine.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Gerald "Jerry"; children, Scott (Kristy) Peterson and Michele (Jason) Grabau; grandchildren, Brittany Peterson (Anthony Montgomery), Brooke Hought (Treyton), Brianna Peterson (Junior McSorley), Kyle Hernandez (Jessica), and Xander and Paxton Haack; great grandchildren, Paisley Hernandez, Emersyn McSorley, Easton Montgomery, and Tatum Hought; siblings, Alan (Jackie) Anderson, Keith Anderson, and Nancy Williams; in-laws, Dianne (Robert) Maile, and Charlene Torgrimson, also by nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, her in-law and her brother-in-law Jay Torgrimson.
Memorial Service will be held July 11th, 11am at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Rd. Apple Valley, MN with a gathering of family and friends 1 hour prior to service. Interment, Rosemount Cemetery, 13885 Dodd Blvd, Rosemount, MN. We will be having a luncheon at Michele Grabau's home following the burial.
The family would appreciate if you would wear purple in honor of Sharon's favorite color.
