Simon “Sam” Workman, age 90, of Apple Valley, passed away on September 30, 2026. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Kathryn "Kathy"; his grandson, Jacob "Jake"; and his siblings, Tom and Helen.

Sam was a life-long member of the Christian Reformed Church. He was a senior level human resources executive for over 35 years. His hobbies included singing, wood carving, and attending activities involving his grand and great-grandchildren.

Sam married Verlyn “Vicki” Hall in a ceremony of commitment on February 14, 2023. He is also survived by his four children: Dave (Marsha), Dan (Mary Ann), Julie (Jim) Roberson, and Steve (Kathleen) Lewis-Workman; grandchildren Michelle, Philip, Michael, William, Andrew (Rachelle), Joni (Dave), Jessica (Jeff), Anna, and Mae; and great-grandchildren Eva, Gemma, Landon, Nathan, and Peyton. He is further survived by his siblings Paul (Joyce), Pat (Dick) Flickema, Bill, and Carol Kozic, as well as other loving family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Christian Reformed Church, 5300 France Avenue South, Edina, MN 55410. Visitation will take place from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. before the service.
