Verlyn
Johnson
d. Nov 25, 2025
Verlyn J. Johnson of Farmington, Minnesota, entered his eternal home with the Lord on November 25, 2025. He was born on August 19, 1943, in Pipestone, Minnesota.
Verlyn graduated from Ruthton High School and later married his high-school sweetheart, Judy, on June 22, 1963, at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland, Minnesota. He went on to attend Dunwoody Institute, where he earned his electronics degree.
Verlyn dedicated 40+ years of his professional life to the University of Minnesota, serving as an Ag Engineer in Rosemount. He also enjoyed teaching an electronics lab course on the St. Paul campus for many years.
A devoted and active member of his church, Verlyn served in numerous roles throughout his life. He was happiest when spending time outdoors—especially fishing—and he cherished both the annual family vacation and the treasured BWCA trips. After retiring, he continued his lifelong spirit of service by volunteering at the Farmington Food Shelf.
Verlyn was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Cleta Johnson, his beloved wife of 46 years, Judy, and in-laws Pat Johnson and Robert Rons.
He is survived by his sons, Brian (Susan) Johnson and Kevin Johnson; grandchildren Melanie (Steve), Stephanie (Travis), Tiffany (Evan), Marissa, and Kyla (Ezayah); great-grandchildren Savannah, Abigail, Linnea, June, and Bonnie; and siblings Keith, Una, and Dennis (Anita).
Funeral service will be held 1 PM Friday, December 5, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 600 Walnut Street, Farmington, with visitation one hour prior to service at church. Interment Corinthian Cemetery, Farmington. Followed by a luncheon at the church.
