St. Louis Park
Wayva Ann Briesacher, age 87, of St. Louis Park, passed away peacefully at home on June 13, 2026.
Wayva was born on March 11, 1939, in Revillo, South Dakota to Walter and Leila Briesacher. The family moved to a farm in what is today Apple Valley, later to Eureka Township and then to Farmington. Wayva was a resident at facilities in Cambridge and Faribault, eventually settling into group homes in the Twin Cities. She held positions at several companies, including Tapemark Company in West St. Paul through an initiative sponsored by the Metropolitan Council's developmental disabilities program. She became a valued employee and especially enjoyed delivering mail. She later became involved with Lifeworks and was known for keeping everyone on schedule.
Wayva was a treasured and much-loved member of the Briesacher family. Over the years she enjoyed family gatherings, kept careful track of everyone's comings and goings and often checked in with her siblings' families by phone. Wayva was a big fan of the Minnesota Twins and her interests included bowling, puzzles, and painting. She was a gentle soul, known for her kindness.
Wayva was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Harvey and her twin, Wayne, and sister, Joyce. She is survived by her sister Karen (Dan) Young, brother Garry (Connie) Briesacher, sister-in-law Marilyn Briesacher, many nieces and nephews, even more grand-nieces and nephews and countless friends and housemates.
The family would like to extend thanks to guardian Heather Lake of Ohana Guardianship, Park Nicollet Hospice, and staff of Sevita Health in-home care services for their loving care, friendship and guidance of Wayva.
A memorial service will be held on June 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the White Funeral Home, 14560 Pennock Avenue, Apple Valley, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev.
