William Charles Brunkow "Bill" age 77 of Burnsville, MN passed away at his home on June 5, 2026. Bill was born on March 22, 1949 in Lake City, MN to Kenneth and Lillian (Metzler) Brunkow. He was a 1967 Graduate of Harding High School. Bill proudly served in the Army during Vietnam. Bill retired as a security shift manager at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel. He married Bonnie Kepner on July 18, 1998 in Burnsville, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 infant children, Joseph and Katie, and sister, Bonnie (Merlyn) Rosenbush. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie; children, Amy Brunkow, Molly Brunkow and her significant other, Josh Brumfield, Amber (Keven) Ramsarran, and Patty (Peter) Kain; grandchildren, Taegan, Zander, Josh Jr., Lillian, Charlie, Roman, Owen, and Carly; siblings, Dean (Gayle) Brunkow, Cheri (Bob) Vaughan, Steve Brunkow, and Debbie Beltz, as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Bill was a devoted Minnesota Gophers fan, especially when it came to basketball and football. If you stopped by, chances were good you'd find him in the four-season porch watching a game. When he wasn't cheering on the Gophers, he was often downstairs working on a puzzle.

He loved supporting his grandchildren, attending many of their sporting events. Whether it was sitting through a dance recital, cheering on the sidelines, or cheering in the stands, he was always one of their biggest fans.

Bill and Bonnie took great pride in transforming their backyard into a beautiful garden retreat, where they enjoyed relaxing together and watching the birds and animals.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday July 15, 2026 from 2-4 PM at the White Funeral Home, 14560 Pennock Ave., Apple Valley, MN.
