Obituary for Yvonne Marie (Sletten) Kes Yvonne Marie (Sletten) Kes, age 75, a lifelong resident of Lakeville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Viola Sletten, and her sister, Audrey Nielsen. Yvonne was the devoted and loving wife of her high school sweetheart, Terry Kes, with whom she shared 54 beautiful years of marriage. Together they built a life rooted in family, faith, and deep devotion to one another.

She was a proud and loving mother to her children, Jeff (Paula) Kes, Jen (David) Zweber, and Todd (Jenny) Kes. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother to Taylor, Logan (Michala), Blake, Faith, Brooke, Carter, Owen, and Evan, and a great-grandmother to Aria and Maverick.

Yvonne was an amazing and beloved teacher at Kindernook Preschool for nearly 28 years, where her gentle spirit, patience, and love for children left a lasting impression on countless families in the Lakeville community. She loved playing cards and dominoes with friends and family, treasuring the laughter, conversation, and connection those moments brought. Above all, Yvonne will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family. In addition to her husband and children, Yvonne is survived by her sisters Gail (Barry) Fick and Karen (Dean) Ekegren; her brothers Wayne (Marian) Sletten and Scott (Jodi) Sletten; and several brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews whom she loved so very much.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 21st from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at White Funeral Home in Lakeville. A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 22nd at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour before at Hosanna Church in Lakeville. A lunch will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Pine Tree Apple Classic Fund in Yvonne's memory. The PTACF was near to Yvonne's heart because it supports children's cancer research. https://www.ptacf.org/
