Catherine M. Capasso, age 82 of Lakeville, passed away May 1, 2019. Preceded in death by her parents, William and Cathryn Sweeney; husband Clifford Drobney, Jr.; siblings, Michael, Mary, Frances, Joseph, Jerome, Fr. Leo and William; and brother-in-law William Netzhimer. Survived by her daughters, Karen (Lindsey) Wright and Francine (Flemming Petersen) Capasso; grandchildren, David, Matthew and Mikael; sisters, Theresa (Harry) Turner and Loretta Netzhimer; sister-in-law, Beverly; also by many loving nieces and nephews.

Cathy was the youngest of 10 children. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Paterson, N.J. in 1954. She earned her R.N. from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Paterson, graduating in 1957. During her career, she was a nurse in both hospital and private practice settings, including pediatrics, which she especially loved.

After living most of her life in N.J. and raising her family, Cathy moved to Minnesota in 1996 so she could be near her two daughters. Her family in Minnesota also includes two sons-in-law, and three grandsons.

Cathy was an active parishioner in the Church of the Risen Savior, in Burnsville, MN. She joyfully fulfilled her calling to love and serve, bringing Communion to those who were sick and unable to attend Mass. Cathy was known to many as a "prayer warrior" both in and out of church. She participated in multiple prayer lines and would unhesitatingly offer prayer to anyone in need, even those she had just met in passing.

Cathy loved to sing and dance, and was very talented at both. She was an avid reader, great at crossword puzzles, and a gifted artist.  She was a beautiful, kindhearted, and loving person. She was loved and adored by friends and family, who miss her dearly. Cathy was a blessing to all who knew her and she brought God's love, joy, and compassion to everyone she met.
