Jason Lee
Norring
Oct 31, 1968 — Jul 15, 2024
Savage
Jason Lee Norring, age 55 of Savage, MN unexpectedly passed away on July 15, 2024, at his lake home in Lakeshore, MN. Jason was born on October 31, 1968, in Waconia, MN. His family moved around during his early childhood, and they settled in Motley, MN when he was 10 years old. During this time, Jason developed lifelong hobbies that included hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and anything outdoors. He was in Boy Scouts and earned his Eagle Scout rank. Much of his high school years were spent with his best friend, Mark Morey and the Morey family. Jason graduated from Motley High School and then earned his bachelor's degree in management from St. Cloud State University. It was there that he met Chris. They married in 1992 and moved to the Twin Cities. They had two sons, Jacob and Marshall.
Jason worked in retail management right out of college and later pursued his master's degree in special education. He worked as a special education teacher in the TESA program at ISD 917 for 13 years. He built many strong relationships with fellow staff and students. He loved seeing his students out in the community. He was involved with the Boy Scouts, going on multiple high adventure trips with his sons. It was on these trips he was able to show off his own experiences from his scouting days. Sadly, Jason was involved in an ATV accident in April 2020 that ended his teaching career. Suffering a severe traumatic brain injury in the accident, Jason's competitive spirit and stubbornness along with the grace of God, helped him to make a miraculous recovery. He could not return to teaching after his accident but kept busy working on his daily "honey do" list, going to the gym, and any little projects he could find to keep busy and help others. Often his furry companion Otis followed him around outdoors.
Jason had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor. His stories graced many ears, typically while enjoying a nice bottle of wine or over a game of cards. While frugal on many fronts and always asking about the price tag, he had a love for big toys – boats, ATVs and his beloved John Deere tractor to name a few. He will be missed dearly by his many friends and family.
Jason is survived by his wife Chris, sons Jacob (Brilane) and Marshall, parents Skip and Judy Lisle, sister Heidi (Phil) Bjerga, brother Jerod. He is also survived by his in-laws Dennis and Mary Anne Finstad, sister-in-law Deb (Ross) Anderson, brother-in-law Keith (Janet) Finstad, many nieces and nephews, and close friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 13801 Fairview Dr, Burnsville, MN on Monday, July 22, 2024. Visitation begins at 10am with service to follow at 11am. Flowers to be sent to Prince of Peace, east entrance. Memorials are preferred. Any received by the family will go to Chase's Warrior Foundation https://www.chaseswarriorfoundation.org/.
