Matt grew up with three wonderful siblings and was surrounded by a large, loving extended family base across the state of Minnesota. As a child, Matt had an affinity for the water and spent much of his time enjoying local beaches, water parks and various water sports. Lake life brought out the best in Matt and allowed him to be his full, unvarnished true self. He had the wisdom to understand summers were short and never failed to take advantage of a weekend on the water. Matt also took to the sport of soccer in his youth and excelled in his years playing the game. He loved holidays and spent an inordinate amount of time decorating the family house with lights and good cheer – his attention to detail sh one through and was frequently commented on by anyone entering our home .
After graduating high school, he furthered his studies at Winona State University and was fortunate to share his experience with Alyssa. He later went on to work at Walgreens where he once again touched the lives of many with his kindhearted approach to service. Throughout his career he worked tirelessly to ensure his employees were treated with respect, that the job was done exceedingly well, and his guests enjoyed a first-class experience.
His love for travel grew exponentially over the past several years. He entrenched himself in the flying community and built deep friendships with many pilots including Tyler . Over a year ago, Matt made the wise decision to take a year off work to further explore his love of flying and traveled many parts of the US and Europe. In the many discussions on the subject, it become apparent that he had discovered what made him feel alive.
Matt was an amazing son, brother, uncle , cousin and friend . H is unconditional love and passion for his four nieces was one of the biggest joys in his life.
