Robert "Bob" Allan Malecha, age 70 of Lonsdale, MN passed away peacefully on March 12, 2024 at his home. He was born in New Prague, MN on October 26, 1953 to Robert and Evelyn (Tupy) Malecha. Bob attended Lonsdale Catholic School and graduated from Montgomery High School in 1972. He earned a Liberal Arts degree in 1977 from The University of MN. Bob proudly served in the US Army as a Military Specialty Armor at Fort Riley Kansas from 1978 to 1981. He worked for Fairway Foods in Northfield from 1981 to 1989, and the US Postal Service in Minneapolis, from 1982 to 2016 when he retired. After retirement, he worked with his friend Doug the farmer. Bob spent most mornings at the Big Steer Restaurant around a table with his friends, known as the "Wisdom Table" and Ettlins Café on the weekends. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, six handed euchre, old epic movies, the Christmas season, and any MN sport - but most of all MN Vikings Football. Bob was known for a great handshake and deemed the nickname "Berto" and "Bobby" to friends and family.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving siblings, Sharon (Ernie) Koktavy, and Tim (Sue) Malecha; nieces and nephews, Heather (Kevin) Willette, Nicholas (Kym) Koktavy, Kurtis Malecha (Jared Ward), and Katelynn (Zach) Werkman; great-nieces and nephews, Ashley and Trevor Willette and Jacob and Suzanna Koktavy, also by many friends.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 26, at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lonsdale, with visitation 9 AM to 10:15 AM at White Funeral Home, Lonsdale. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Lunch will be served at the Lonsdale American Legion after Mass.
