Ross Garman Braland

Ross Garman Braland, age 84, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024 surrounded by family.  He was born on September 9, 1940 in Lake Mills, IA to Garman and Beth Braland.  He grew up in Lake Mills, IA and graduated from Mankato State University (BA) and Colorado State University (MA).  He married Charlotte Karnatz on July 13, 1963.  He taught in Forest City, IA and Fort Collins, CO.  Ross and Char eventually made their home in Burnsville, MN.  Ross was a guidance counselor in School District 191 for over 30 years.

Ross is survived by wife, Char; son, John (Kathi); daughter, Carrie (Craig) Weber; brother, Paul (Pam); 4 grandchildren (Josh, Sara, Katie, Evan) and 2 great-grandchildren (Azariah and Makenna) and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Garman and Beth Braland.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (13801 Fairview Drive, Burnsville). Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Grace Hospice (1015 4th Avenue N., Suite 206, Minneapolis, MN 55405) and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
